SPARK3: Landscape Architecture International Dialogue 2019

Last week I had the opportunity to attend SPARK3 at GMBB KL. This is the third year that ILAM has organised SPARK, this year and last year with IYC. The first SPARK was held in 2017 at the PAM Building. I participated for the 2 full days session and joined the tour to APW Bangsar (just nextdoor of PAM Building). Last year in 2018, it was held at the Tourism Bureau Jalan Tangsi. I was the moderator for one of the session. For me, as an academic in the landscape architecture field, attending SPARK is almost like a crash-course on the latest projects and initiatives. Of course we can look up and read up on these things, but sometimes it’s more engaging to listen to the live presentations of these projects.

For SPARK3, I only got to attend the afternoon session (as we had a meeting in the morning and I had a class the next day). So for my future reference, also for this to also benefit others, here are some titles/links to the documentaries and projects shared in SPARK3 (shared in the sessions and shared by the speakers in their presentations).

Some snapshots of SPARK3, just to get the feel of it.

My “Leaf Macrame”. Looks pretty good, right? 😉
